Frederiksdorp, a former 18th-century coffee and cocoa plantation, offers an authentic journey through history. Program
Day 1
You’ll set off from Hotel Torarica in Paramaribo to Mariënburg, before transferring to the boat to Frederiksdorp Plantation Resort, where you’ll be welcomed by the enthusiastic team. Accompanied by a guide, you’ll walk through the old plantation and take a historical tour past the beautifully restored heritage buildings, including the old plantation houses and the 16th-century doctor’s house. In the storytelling museum, you’ll hear personal stories from the past, and during a walk in the countryside, you’ll learn valuable lessons from the forest. You’ll round off the day with a sumptuous lunch and can enjoy the swimming pool with a refreshing drink. Fancy even more to do? Then grab a canoe and explore the surroundings of Frederiksdorp Plantation from the water.
Day 2
After spending the night at the beautiful plantation, you will return to the capital.
