Program
Day 1
Start the day with an overview of the itinerary and an invigorating cup of coffee or tea before heading into the jungle. After about 4 hours, you’ll reach base camp, where you can relax with a refreshing dip and a meal. You’ll then change into your jungle gear for a 3- to 4-hour hike through unspoilt wilderness to the mountain summit. This is a manageable trek for anyone in reasonable fitness. At the summit, a breathtaking view awaits, followed by a shower and kitchen facilities to ensure a good night’s sleep.
Day 2
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over the jungle and let yourself be enchanted by the sounds of nature as it awakens. After a hearty breakfast, your guide will take you to the rare orange rock formations on the other side of the mountain. As you explore the jungle, you may spot various species of monkey before returning to base camp for a sumptuous lunch. The afternoon offers a range of activities such as fishing, boating and, at high water, even a Tarzan swing into the water. You’ll round off the day with a guide who’ll help you spot nocturnal animals around the campfire.
Day 3
On the final day, you can choose to head back into the jungle with your guide to spot more wildlife, or you may prefer to relax by swimming and sunbathing. After lunch, you’ll pack up and drive back to Paramaribo.
