Start the day with an early morning in your hammock and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunrises in Suriname. From the top of the Fredberg, you can watch the jungle come to life, as it were, whilst listening to the calls of howler monkeys and watching beautiful birds such as macaws fly past. After a hearty breakfast prepared by the cook, you’ll set off with plenty of energy to explore the jungle further. Your guide will lead you down the other side of the mountain to the rare orange rock cocks, where you may spot various species of monkey along the way. You’ll learn more about different plant species and receive practical tips on surviving in the jungle. The day ends with a unique experience: you’ll sleep ‘back to basics’ in a homemade camp, in your hammock inside a cave deep in the jungle behind the Fredberg.

After an exciting night, you’ll walk a little further through the jungle before returning to base camp. There, a hearty lunch with ice-cold drinks awaits you, followed by some well-deserved rest. Depending on the water level, you can go fishing, boating or take a Tarzan swing into the water. In the evening, you’ll set off with a guide to spot nocturnal animals, after which the day often ends with a cosy get-together around the campfire. At night, you’ll sleep in a comfortable bed.

On the final day, you can head back into the jungle with your guide to spot more animals, or you can choose to go for a swim and enjoy the sun. After lunch, you’ll pack your things and drive back to Paramaribo.
