Experience the magic of Knini Paati River Resort as you explore the lush surroundings on relaxing forest walks and fascinating village walks, immersing yourself deeply in the local culture. Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll embark on an exciting night-time boat trip to spot caimans and navigate the mysterious waterways. You can cool off in the rapids and enjoy the natural beauty of this location. The comfortable lodges offer a peaceful retreat with en-suite facilities including shower gel, mosquito nets, spacious balconies with hammocks, clean bed linen and towels. Cots are available for families with young children. All meals, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, are provided, along with a range of refreshing non-alcoholic drinks such as water, juice, coffee and tea, so you can relax and enjoy yourself amidst the lush flora and fauna and the soothing sounds of nature.

Program
Day 1
You will set off from Paramaribo at around 09.00, heading for Atjoni, with two stops along the way for toilet breaks and a snack. You’ll arrive in Atjoni in the early afternoon, after which you’ll set off on a boat trip of about an hour to Knini Paati. Upon arrival on the island, a hot meal will be waiting for you, after which you can check in and settle into your lodge. The rest of the day is devoted to relaxation and acclimatisation. You are free to swim or relax in the sula as you please. At 7.00 pm, you’ll enjoy your evening meal, after which you’ll wind down for the night.
Day 2
This day is all about experiencing new things and taking in the sights. After breakfast at 08:00, you’ll set off at 09:00 for your first excursion, which will last a few hours so that you’re back on the island in time for lunch. The afternoon is entirely yours: enjoy the natural surroundings and the resort’s facilities, relax in a hammock with a good book, have a siesta, go for a swim or unwind in the sula. Dinner is served at 7.00 pm, after which you can get ready for the highlight of the day: caiman spotting and the night-time boat trip.
Day 3
The great adventure begins today! After breakfast at 08.00, you’ll set off on a brisk forest walk lasting at least 3 hours with an experienced guide who’ll tell you all about the different types of trees and how the ancestors lived in this area. This will be an unforgettable experience that will give you lots of new insights. On your return, a delicious lunch will be waiting for you. Afterwards, you can enjoy the natural surroundings and all the resort’s facilities: hammocks with a good book, a siesta, a swim, relaxing in the sula or a refreshing beer in the restaurant.
Day 4
Your fourth and final day is all about relaxation. After breakfast at 8.00 am, you can make the most of your final hours on the island, whether relaxing in the hammock on your lodge’s balcony or enjoying a final refreshing swim in the sula. Check-out is at 11.00, after which you can enjoy a delicious lunch at 11.30. Your return journey to Atjoni then begins at 12.00, where our driver will collect you. You’ll make one stop along the way, ensuring you arrive back at your holiday accommodation on time, enriched by an unforgettable journey of discovery through Upper Suriname.
