After breakfast at 8.00 am, your day begins with a picturesque three-hour journey by dugout canoe upstream to Kajana. After lunch, you’ll continue your journey with a stop-off at the Awarradam rapids. By evening, you’ll reach your base camp at Sintia Dam, where you’ll spend the night in hammocks and explore the surroundings whilst your cook prepares a delicious meal.

You’ll embark on a challenging 4-kilometre hike through unspoilt woodland to the Schildpaddeberg. This walk is rewarded with stunning panoramic views from a height of 310 metres. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the river and try your hand at traditional fishing, accompanied by experienced local guides.

Early in the morning, you’ll start with a boat trip whilst enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, followed by an informative walk during which you’ll learn more about the local flora and fauna. After lunch, you’ll have the chance to swim, relax or go fishing at the Sintia Dam. In the evening, you’ll round off the day with a boat trip after dinner, during which you can observe the night-time sounds and wildlife of the jungle.

After breakfast, you will explore the surrounding villages on a leisurely village walk and enjoy lunch. You will then have some free time to explore further, before returning to Kumalu/Pingpe in the afternoon.

After breakfast, we set off between 7.00 and 7.30 am back to the jetty in Atjoni. On the way to Paramaribo, we’ll visit the impressive Afobaka dam.
