Overview
Welcome to the Anaula Nature Resort, situated on a lush 12-hectare island at the foot of the impressive Ferulassi Valleys. The resort covers just 2 hectares, whilst you are free to wander through the remaining 9 hectares of unspoilt tropical rainforest. Explore the island along the marked trails and create your own forest walk. A walk around the island takes about 30 minutes. Enjoy 3 days of nature, with the option to extend your stay to 4 days.

Activities
The Anaula Nature Resort offers a range of activities to ensure an unforgettable stay. You can relax in the comfortable lounge, practise yoga on the dedicated platform or unwind in hammock camps with stunning views of the river. For adventurers, there are exciting activities such as a caiman-spotting trip by dugout canoe, an informative forest walk through the tropical rainforest and a village walk where you can meet the hospitable Maroon people. The highlight is the cultural dance show featuring traditional song and dance. For the most adventurous guests, there is a full-day excursion to the Tapawatra rapids, where you can enjoy a natural whirlpool and possibly meet the Granman of the Saramaccans (subject to availability and a minimum number of participants).

Program
Day 1
Your adventure to the Anaula Nature Resort begins with a journey to an enchanting island of around 12 hectares, situated at the foot of the impressive Ferulasi Falls. The island is about 170 km from the capital, Paramaribo, and can be reached after a journey of around 4 hours by road, followed by an hour’s boat trip. Throughout the journey, you’ll discover more and more of the natural beauty that awaits you upon arrival at the Anaula Nature Resort.
Day 2
During your stay at the Anaula Nature Resort in the enchanting Upper Suriname region, you will discover the unique culture of the Maroons and the unspoilt beauty of the Amazon rainforest. The nearby Maroon villages, such as Ladoani, Gunsi, Nieuw Aurora and Jaw Jaw, offer you the chance to admire the women’s colourful attire and the lively scenes along the water’s edge, all set against a backdrop of lush rainforest. The Maroons are proud to share their fascinating way of life with you. The resort has electricity from 18:30 to 23:00, so you can charge your devices in your lodge during those hours. You can also enjoy a range of facilities, including a swimming pool with comfortable sun loungers, a spacious dining room with a cocktail bar offering a wide selection of drinks, and a modern, air-conditioned conference room equipped with audiovisual equipment for business meetings and workshops.
