Day 2
After breakfast, you will travel by dugout canoe to Djumu, where, accompanied by an experienced guide, you will explore the village and go on an extensive forest walk. During this walk, you will learn about the fascinating flora and fauna around you. You will have the opportunity to take a trek of around two hours to the Ananas Mountains, where you will walk through the jungle to this 219-metre-high mountain. Wild pineapples still grow here, which you can admire, particularly during the season. After this strenuous walk, you’ll enjoy a relaxing boat trip to the Tapawatra rapids, situated at the confluence of the Gran and Piking Rio rivers.

After breakfast, you’ll travel to Pikinslee to visit the Maroon Museum, after which you’ll return to Paramaribo. For guests on the four-day tour, there’s an opportunity to relax at the resort after breakfast. In the afternoon, you can swim in the river and visit a small farm. In the evening, with a bit of luck, you may spot caimans on the river.
