Overview
Peperpot Nature Park, one of Suriname’s first protected nature reserves on the Suriname River near Paramaribo, is a former coffee and cocoa plantation that has been managed as an ecotourism and educational destination since 2009. The park offers guests accommodation in a restored plantation house and showcases the rich biodiversity of the Surinamese rainforest: over 270 species of birds, jaguars, pumas, monkeys, giant anteaters, reptiles, amphibians and colourful butterflies. Experience the magic of the forest by day and discover the nocturnal wonders of this unique ecosystem.

Program
Day 1
You will receive a warm welcome in the lobby of Torarica in Paramaribo at 4.00 pm and then travel to the park for an enchanting walk accompanied by an experienced guide. As you walk through the lush green forests, you will discover a fascinating diversity of flora and fauna. You’ll admire the abundant birdlife and keep an eye out for big cats, monkeys and other exotic animals hiding in this rich habitat. This experience offers you not only an insight into the splendour of nature, but also into the delicate balance of the ecosystem. After a relaxing walk full of breathtaking photo opportunities and enriching encounters with nature, we’ll bring you safely back to Paramaribo at around 7.30 pm, where you can reflect on this unforgettable experience.
