Program
Day 1
Your Palumeu adventure in Suriname begins with a picturesque flight from Zorg en Hoop, the local airport, to the enchanting airstrip near the Palumeu indigenous village. Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome at the Palumeu resort, surrounded by the Trio and Wajana communities. A relaxed picnic lunch on the beautiful Palawa Island is followed by a refreshing swim in the river. Afterwards, our guide will take you on a fascinating exploration of the indigenous village, where you’ll discover the vibrant traditions and crafts of these ancient Amazonian inhabitants. The eco-friendly resort, with its traditionally built jungle lodges and sustainable energy sources, offers you comfort and authenticity. The day concludes with an evening of stories about the lush flora and fauna and the ancient indigenous cultures.
Day 2
U wordt gewekt door de natuurlijke geluiden van de brulapen in het Palumeu-resort. Na een heerlijk ontbijt neemt een korjaal u mee naar het startpunt voor een avontuurlijke wandeling naar de granieten heuvel Potihill. Onderweg vaart u over de Tapanahonyrivier en verkent u met onze deskundige gids de diverse flora en fauna van de jungle. De beklimming van Potihill wordt beloond met een adembenemend uitzicht over het oerwoud. Na de lunch volgt een les in boogschieten, waarna u de avond doorbrengt met fascinerende verhalen over de geschiedenis en unieke levenswijze van de lokale indianen.
Day 3
De dag begint vroeg met een serene boottocht stroomafwaarts in de ochtendschemering, waarin u het ontwaken van de jungle in stilte kunt ervaren. Na het ontbijt vaart u per korjaal naar de Mabukawatervallen, waar u een dag vol ontspanning tegemoet gaat. Hier kunt u zwemmen in de rivier, zich laten masseren door de waterval of ontspannen in een hangmat. Voor avonturiers biedt de tour een junglewandeling met uitleg over de diverse bomen, planten en dieren van het oerwoud. Een smakelijke barbecue vormt het middagmaal, waarna een nachtelijke riviertocht met uw gids de dag afsluit, waarin u kunt genieten van de betoverende geluiden van het oerwoud.
Day 4
Your final morning at the Palumeu Resort begins with a leisurely stroll through the village, where you can buy traditional handmade souvenirs. After lunch, it’s time to bid farewell to these enchanting surroundings and return to Paramaribo, where your unforgettable experience in Palumeu comes to an end.
