Activities

As well as private cabanas, Danpaati River Lodge offers a range of facilities. You can enjoy a cosy lounge, an atmospheric bar with a wide selection of drinks and snacks, and a restaurant where breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee or tea are included. The lodge also features a Danpaati River Store selling authentic local souvenirs, relaxation areas on the island, a cleaning and laundry service, and a wake-up service with coffee.

Program

Day 1
The journey to the lodge can be made by land or by air, depending on the weather conditions. Taking the land route, it is about a three-hour drive from Paramaribo, followed by a three-hour journey by dugout canoe from Atjoni to the lodge. Along the way, you’ll pass several settlements, where you’ll see children playing and may spot local wildlife such as kingfishers and birds of prey. Upon arrival, you can immediately enjoy the resort and its surroundings.
Day 2
The remaining days offer you the chance to make the most of all the resort’s facilities. You can relax in the cosy lounge, enjoy a drink or snack in the atmospheric bar, or dine in the restaurant, where breakfast, lunch, dinner and coffee or tea are provided for you. In the Danpaati River shop, you’ll find authentic, locally made souvenirs, whilst on the island you can discover various places to relax. The resort also offers handy services such as housekeeping and laundry, and a wake-up coffee service.

Danpaati River Lodge offers a range of cabana options: 10 double cabanas, 3 'Special Occasions' cabanas with queen-size beds, and 1 more spacious multi-cabanas with four single beds and the option of extra beds, ideal for groups or families. All cabanas are equipped with an en-suite shower and toilet, electricity, a veranda overlooking the river or the forest, comfortable furniture and mosquito nets.
