You will set off from the city towards Brownsberg in the Brokopondo district and, after about an hour’s drive, make a welcome stop at Paranam, where the bauxite refinery is located. During this break, you’ll enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea with a tasty snack, whilst learning about the bauxite industry in Suriname since the early 1900s. Once you arrive at the plateau at the top of the mountain, at an altitude of around 500 metres, you can enjoy the stunning views over the Van Blommenstein Reservoir and the surrounding landscape, whilst tucking into some fruit and a refreshing drink. Afterwards, our experienced guide will lead you on an interesting walk through the countryside to the idyllic waterfalls further down the mountain. Following this walk, you’ll head back uphill to the Brownsberg plateau for a hot lunch. In the evening, you’ll relax at the top of the mountain, surrounded by the serene sounds of nature.
