You’ll set off from Paramaribo at 09.00 by bus to Santigron. On the way, you’ll make a short stop in Lelydorp to do some shopping at the market. On arrival in Santigron, you’ll be warmly welcomed with a refreshing drink. Afterwards, our expert guide will take you on a walking tour of the village, where you’ll discover the fascinating history and rich cultural life of the Maroons. You’ll have a natter with the friendly villagers and admire their traditional clothing and handmade crafts. After the tour, you’ll enjoy a delicious Surinamese lunch, followed by a cultural dance performance by the local children. You’ll then have the opportunity to buy authentic wood carvings and other local products. The day ends with your return to Paramaribo.
