This adventurous tour through Suriname takes you on an exciting journey of discovery back to basics. From bustling Paramaribo deep into the lush jungle, past historic plantations, local villages and majestic mountains. Expect a mix of city exploration, river trips and mountain climbing. PART 1

1st day: Paramaribo
Departure from Schiphol Amsterdam for the flight to Paramaribo. Upon arrival, the guide will be ready to escort you to the Residence Inn Hotel, where the first 4 nights have been reserved.

2nd day: Plantation and Museum Bakkie
During this tour you will gain insight into the history of the Bakkie plantation. You will experience old sugar mills in the jungle, wells and locks, and visit a small surprising museum. Breakfast and lunch are included.

3rd day: Free day
You can spend this day according to your own wishes. Taking a seat on a terrace, doing some shopping or visiting the Cotta mission museum or Ford Zeelandia are among the options. Breakfast is included.

4th day: Paramaribo - Drietabbetje - Camp Soentje
Departure by bus at 10:00 am to Zorg en Hoop airport. With the Gumair service we arrive in Drietabbetje in about 50 minutes. Upon arrival we take a village walk and then sail for about 3 hours towards Camp Soentje. At low water levels, part of the route can be completed on foot while the boat is moved. Upon arrival on the island, the hammocks are prepared for the overnight stay. All meals are included.

5th day: Camp Soentje - Apetina
After breakfast we sail towards Apetina, with approximately 5 hours of sailing and a stop for lunch and a refreshing dip in the river. Depending on the water level, the boat can be towed or sailed. Upon arrival in Apetina we prepare our hammocks for the overnight stay. Dinner around 7pm. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.)

PART 2

6th day: Climb Tebu Top
After an early breakfast, we will sail (about 45 minutes) to the Tebu summit walkway. From there we walk for half an hour to the foot of the mountain. The local guide will lead the climb to the top, ensuring a safe experience. After returning it is time for lunch. In the afternoon we take a village walk led by a local guide. Dinner is around 7:00 PM. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner included.)

7th day: Tutu Creek - Roosevelt Mountains
After breakfast we sail for about 2 hours to the Tutu Creek. Upon arrival we set up camp and spend the night in hammocks. It is a beautiful area for swimming and fishing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

8th day: Roosevelt Mountains
After breakfast we take a 15-minute boat ride to the Roosevelt Mountains walkway. We take a walk of about 3 to 4 hours there and back with a local guide. From the top you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Amazon jungle. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

9th day: Roosevelt Mountains - Apetina
After breakfast we leave by boat for the village of Apetina. The afternoon is free to swim and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

10th day: Apetina - Paramaribo
After breakfast we leave by boat for the airstrip. There we wait for the plane to fly to Paramaribo (Zorg en Hoop airport) within 1 hour. Then a bus will take you to the hotel. Today breakfast is included.

11th day: Day off
Today you have a free day to spend as you wish. Enjoy a drink on a terrace, do some shopping in the city or relax by the pool are some options. Breakfast is included.

PART 3

12th day: Fredberg Adventure
Fredberg is a destination for adventurers, nature lovers and those who want a taste of Suriname's untouched beauty. We take you to a rediscovered place where you will experience the true splendor of Suriname. After a short discussion and a cup of coffee or tea, we leave for the unspoiled jungle. The drive takes about 4 hours, depending on stops, on a fairly good road. At the base camp you will have time to swim and eat. Then you put on your jungle clothing for the climb of Fredberg. The 3 to 4 hour walk through the untouched jungle is easy for anyone in normal condition. Once on the mountain top you can enjoy the beautiful view. Facilities such as a shower and kitchen are provided for a good night's sleep. Enjoy the sunset and the starry sky before going to sleep in this special place. All meals are included.

13th day: Fredberg
Rise early for a breathtaking sunrise over the jungle. From the top you can see the jungle awakening and hear the sounds of howler monkeys and colorful birds flying by. After a hearty breakfast you continue your discovery tour through the jungle. Your guide will take you to the other side of the mountain, where you may spot rare orange cock-of-the-rock and various monkey species. Back at the base camp you will enjoy an extensive lunch and relaxation. Spend the night in a comfortable bed without needing the hammock. Activities such as fishing, boating and even a Tarzan swing at high tide are on the program. In the evening you go out again with a guide to spot nocturnal animals, often around a cozy campfire.

Day 14: Departure to Jaw Jaw from Fredberg
For jungle lovers, this day offers even more opportunities to spot animals. If you prefer to swim and enjoy the sun, there is room for that too. After lunch you pack your things and leave for Atjoni, where the canoe is waiting for you to take you to Jaw Jaw.

PART 4

15th day: Jaw Jaw
After breakfast you take a walk through the rainforest, followed by a village walk where you get to know the Saramaccan people. This community has kept African traditions such as fishing, hunting, boat building and natural healing alive in the Surinamese jungle. After lunch you will visit the more distant village of Gunsi and take a hike to the village of Nieuw Aurora/Laduani. From Laduani you sail to the Ferulasi rapids for relaxation. In the late afternoon you sail back to Jaw Jaw. In the evening you can enjoy a cultural show. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included.

16th day: Jaw Jaw to Paramaribo
After a last moment of enjoying the surroundings we sail back to Atjoni, where the bus is waiting to take you back to Paramaribo. You will spend the night again at the Residence Inn Hotel. Breakfast and lunch are included.

17th day: Free day in Paramaribo
Today you have the freedom to decide for yourself. Whether you want to relax on a terrace, do some shopping in the city, or visit the Cotta mission museum or Ford Zeelandia, the choice is yours. Breakfast is included.

18th day: Another day off
Today you have another day to spend according to your own wishes. Breakfast is included.

19th day: Transfer to Zanderij
Enjoy Paramaribo for a while, grab some souvenirs, relax on the waterfront or by the pool. After noon the bus leaves for the airport for the overnight flight to the Netherlands. Breakfast is included.

21st day: Back home
Arrival at Schiphol, home sweet home!
