Day 2
After breakfast at 8:00 am we start our day by canoe for a scenic 3-hour trip upstream to Kajana. After lunch we continue our journey with a stop at the Awarradam rapids. In the evening we reach our base camp in Sintia Dam, where we spend the night in hammocks and explore the area while our cook prepares a delicious meal.
Day 3
We make a 4 km long trek through pristine forest to Turtle Mountain. This challenging hike rewards us with beautiful panoramic views at an altitude of 310 meters. In the afternoon we enjoy the refreshing river and traditional fishing experiences accompanied by local guides.
Day 4
Early in the morning we take a boat trip with coffee/tea, followed by an informative walk about flora and fauna. After lunch there is time to swim, relax or fish at the Sintia Dam. In the evening, a boat trip offers the opportunity to observe nocturnal sounds and animals after dinner.
Day 5
After breakfast we explore surrounding villages, enjoy an extensive village walk and lunch. Free time allows for further exploration, before returning to Kumalu/Pingpe in the afternoon.
Day 6
After breakfast we leave between 7:00 and 7:30 am back to the jetty in Atjoni. On the way to Paramaribo we first visit the Afobaka dam.
