We gather at 8 a.m. and leave by car with the kayaks to our starting point. We drive via the new Highway to the Coropina creek along the Para river. There we prepare our kayaks for an approximately 3-hour trip. The Coropina creek, less than an hour's drive from Paramaribo, offers a beautiful area where we can spot various animals, such as monkeys, caimans and various bird species, including parrots. This wetland area consists largely of connected swamps and creeks. During lunch we take a break at a beautiful spot in the middle of the forest, on the creek banks. A moment to enjoy the jungle sounds while enjoying a good meal, knowing that there is not a soul to be seen here.
