Program
Day 1
Discover the heart of Nickerie as you travel to Nieuw Nickerie. The journey offers panoramic views of vast rice fields that blend seamlessly into the landscape, a picturesque combination of Indonesian and Dutch influences. Upon arrival in Nieuw Nickerie, explore the new sea wall and be welcomed by an enchanting sunset that colors the horizon. Make a stop in historic Groningen, where Dutch farmers settled about 150 years ago, a place steeped in stories from the past. The journey continues to Wageningen, once the vibrant center of rice culture, where history is still palpable. A day steeped in history, enchanting landscapes and cultural discoveries.
Day 2
Prepare for an enchanting exploration of Bigi Pan, home to more than 120 bird species. Board a canoe and be taken through winding creeks, past lush mangrove forests and through vast swamp areas. The nature reserve reveals its lush splendor as you enjoy a true symphony of birdsong. The return journey to Paramaribo begins around 3:00 PM, where you will arrive approximately 3 hours later after a journey full of discoveries and wonder. A day steeped in natural splendor and enchantment awaits you.
