Activities

Enrich your days at Jungle Resort Pingpe with a beautiful boat trip on the Upper Suriname River, village walks, and a fascinating jungle exploration with an expert guide. Relax at the Tapawatra Sula, enjoy local meals, cultural evenings, and experience the hospitality of the Saramaccan community.

Program

Day 1
If you travel by bus, you will depart from your accommodation at around 8:30 am for a scenic 2.5-hour bus journey to Jungle Resort Pingpe. Admire the colorful Surinamese culture and picturesque villages along the way before enjoying lunch upon arrival in Atjoni. Then you board a canoe for an enchanting 3.5-hour trip on the Upper Suriname River, past villages and local daily activities. If you travel by plane, you will depart from Zorg en Hoop airport in Paramaribo around noon for a breathtaking 45-minute flight over the majestic Surinamese jungle to Djumu airport. After a short, 15-minute canoe trip, you arrive at Jungle Resort Pingpe, where a delicious lunch awaits you. Upon arrival at the resort, after a day of adventures, you can relax on the island or swim in the river. Later follows a village walk and an evening trip by canoe, where you can experience the sounds of the jungle or spot caimans, before enjoying a delicious dinner and learning more about Saramaccan culture and the Pingpe area.
Day 2
After an extensive breakfast, explore the jungle with your guide and discover the natural beauty and customs of the jungle. After lunch you will sail to the Tapawatra Sula for refreshing dives and a natural massage bath. Back at the resort, visit the Djumu Health Center and end the day with an evening of culture and dancing provided by the locals.
Day 3
After breakfast, you will depart downstream by canoe to Atjoni, where you will enjoy lunch after a 2.5-hour boat trip and then return to Paramaribo by bus. Or, if you're traveling by plane, use the morning to relax by the river before departing for Djumu airport around noon and flying back to Zorg en Hoop airport.
