Program
Day 1
At 7.30am, our adventurous journey from Paramaribo to Albina starts, a three-hour drive. From Albina, we will travel by korjaal to St Laurant du Maroni in neighbouring French Guiana, where the famous Papillon prison has housed prisoners since 1852. This historic complex is now an intriguing museum that we explore on a guided tour. After the tour, we stroll past local shops and the market, where various communities sell their wares, before enjoying a tasty lunch. Architecture lovers can admire old buildings before we return to Albina by boat and then return to Paramaribo by bus.
