PART 1
Day 1: Arrival in Paramaribo
Your flight to Paramaribo departs from Schiphol. Upon arrival, a guide will be ready to escort you to Hotel Queens, your stay for the first two nights.
Day 2: Exploratory tour through Paramaribo
Today we take a walking tour of Paramaribo, exploring highlights such as the Chinese market, the wooden basilica/cathedral and other sights. Our expert guide will tell you all about these places. The afternoon is free to spend, ideal for relaxing by the hotel pool or exploring the city further. Breakfast is included today.
Dag 3: Avontuur op Fredberg
Na een korte bespreking van het programma en een kopje koffie of thee, is het tijd om te vertrekken. Je stapt in de auto richting de ongerepte jungle en zal, afhankelijk van het aantal tussenstops, ongeveer 4 uur onderweg zijn. Je komt eerst aan in het basiskamp, waar je tijd hebt om even te zwemmen en te eten. Trek je jungle kleding aan, want het is tijd om de Fredberg te bedwingen. Je wandelt zo'n 3 à 4 uur door de ongerepte jungle voordat je de top van de berg bereikt. Het is een tocht die voor iedereen met een normale conditie goed te doen is. Eenmaal op de top van de berg is het puur genieten. Het uitzicht is prachtig en met een douche en keuken zijn de nodige faciliteiten voor een goede nacht aanwezig. Geniet van de zonsondergang en de sterrenhemel op deze bijzondere plek voordat je gaat slapen. Ontbijt, lunch en diner zijn inbegrepen vandaag.
Dag 4: Prachtige zonsopkomst
Spring vandaag vroeg uit je hangmat voor een van de mooiste zonsopkomsten in Suriname. Van bovenaf zie je als het ware de jungle ontwaken, met het geluid van brulapen en prachtige vogels zoals ara's die voorbijvliegen. De kok zorgt voor een stevig ontbijt, zodat je de dag met genoeg energie tegemoet gaat. Vandaag ga je de jungle nog verder verkennen en slaap je helemaal back to basic in grotten in de jungle achter de Fredberg. De gids neemt je via de andere kant van de berg mee richting de zeldzame oranje rotshanen en misschien spot je onderweg nog verschillende apensoorten. Je krijgt uitleg over diverse plantensoorten en leert hoe je kunt overleven in de jungle. Je slaapt in een zelfgemaakt kampje in je hangmat in een grot.
PART 2
Dag 5: Terug naar het basiskamp
Na een spannende nacht is het tijd om nog een stukje door de jungle te wandelen. Na de jungletocht kom je weer terug in het basiskamp, waar het tijd is om lekker te ontspannen. Er staat een uitgebreide lunch klaar met ijskoude drankjes. Vanavond slaap je in een comfortabel bed en heb je je hangmat niet meer nodig. Er kan worden gevist, gevaren en bij hoogwater kan je zelfs met een heuse tarzanswing het water in duiken. In de avond ga je nogmaals op pad met een gids om nachtdieren te spotten. De avonden eindigen vaak bij het kampvuur.ag.
Day 6: Back to Paramaribo
If you haven't had enough of the jungle yet, you can go out again with your guide to see more animals. If you just want to swim and sunbathe on the last day, there is certainly room for that. After lunch it is time to pack your things and drive back to Paramaribo.
Day 7: Free day in Paramaribo
Today you have a free day in Paramaribo to spend at your leisure. Breakfast is included today.
Day 8: Commewijne tour
We leave Leonsberg/Marine Trap at 9am. We visit Fort Nieuw Amsterdam, a 17th century fort with a rich history. After the tour we sail to the Rust en Werk plantation. Depending on the tide, we explore the Rust en Werk creek and visit this plantation. Breakfast and lunch are included today.
PART 3
Day 9: Peperpot Plantation
Peperpot Nature Park, on the Suriname River outside Paramaribo, was a coffee and cocoa plantation for centuries and is now a protected nature reserve. Managed by a foundation, the more than 820 hectare park preserves its biodiversity. With more than 270 bird species and six of Suriname's eight felines, this is an internationally renowned spot for birdwatching. It is also home to monkeys, special insects, giant anteaters and butterflies. Today breakfast and lunch are included.
Day 10: Brownsberg – Ston Island
The journey from Paramaribo to Brownsberg is by bus. From the Mazaroni plateau on Brownsberg you have a beautiful view of the reservoir, followed by a walk to the Leo and/or Irene falls, surrounded by beautiful nature. In the afternoon you travel to Ston Island for an overnight stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today.
Day 11: Ston Island - Jaw Jaw
After a boat tour on the reservoir with stops at waterfalls, enjoy various activities such as fishing, kayaking, swimming and relaxing. The journey then continues to Jaw Jaw by canoe from Atjonie, where you can spend the afternoon as you wish. You can relax at the beautiful Jaw Jaw rapids near your accommodation. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today.
Day 12: Jaw Jaw
A morning walk through the rainforest and a village walk will introduce you to the Saramaccan culture with their traditional activities. After lunch you will visit Gunsi village and take a walk to New Aurora/Laduani, followed by a boat trip to the Ferulasi rapids. Back in Jaw Jaw you can enjoy an evening-long cultural show. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included today.
PART 4
Day 13: Jaw Jaw - Paramaribo
After enjoying the beautiful surroundings it is time to return to Paramaribo. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Day 14: Free day in Paramaribo
Today you can spend as you wish, breakfast is included.
Day 15: Free and transfer to Zanderij
Enjoy Paramaribo for a while, maybe buy some souvenirs, relax on the waterfront or by the pool before you leave. After noon the bus will take you to the airport for the overnight flight to the Netherlands. Breakfast included.
Day 16: Home
Arrival at Schiphol, coming home!
