Program

Day 1
You will depart from your lodge around 8.30am in the morning for a scenic 2.5-hour bus journey to Jungle Resort Pingpe. Along the way, admire the colourful Surinamese culture and picturesque villages before enjoying lunch on arrival in Atjoni. You will then board a korjaal for an enchanting 3.5-hour trip down the Upper Suriname River, past villages and local daily activities. Upon arrival at the resort, after an adventure-filled day, relax on the island or swim in the river. This is followed later by a village walk and an evening trip by korjaal, where you can experience the sounds of the jungle or spot caimans, before enjoying a delicious dinner and learning more about Saramaccan culture and the Pingpe area.
Day 2
After an extensive breakfast, explore the jungle with your guide and discover the natural beauty and customs of the jungle. After lunch you will sail to the Tapawatra Sula for refreshing dives and a natural massage bath. Back at the resort, visit the Djumu Health Center and end the day with an evening of culture and dancing provided by the locals.
Day 3
After your breakfast, you will depart by korjaal downstream to Atjoni, where you will enjoy lunch after a 2.5-hour boat ride and then return to Paramaribo by bus.
