Overview
Frederiksdorp, once a thriving coffee and cocoa plantation from the 18th century, now offers a fascinating glimpse into the past. With a swimming pool, a river terrace, a restaurant and a bar, Frederiksdorp offers every comfort. The surroundings are enchanting with mangrove forests, fishing villages, sea beaches, bird swamps and cycling and walking paths. Program
Day 1
You will depart from Hotel Torarica in Paramaribo to Mariënburg and then transfer by boat to plantation Resort Frederiksdorp, where you will be welcomed by the enthusiastic Frederiksdorp team. Together with a guide, you will go on a tour of the old plantation. You take a historical walk and view the beautifully restored monumental buildings. You view the old plantation house and the doctor's house from the 16th century. In the story museum, you will hear the personal stories of the past and during a walk in nature you will receive wise lessons from the forest. In short, a day full of wise lessons in a beautiful place. You finish the day tour with a sumptuous lunch and have the opportunity and freedom to enjoy the pool with a nice drink. Fancy an extra activity? Then grab a canoe and explore the surroundings of plantation Frederiksdorp from the water.
Day 2
After spending the night at the beautiful plantation, it is time to return to the capital.
