Overview
During the Brokopondo tour we take you on an adventurous journey of discovery to the Brokopondo district, including the Reservoir, an area that was flooded in the 1960s for energy supply. Admire the jagged tree trunks that rise above the water as you take a boat trip across the lake. Along the way you will discover the transmigration villages on Brownsweg and learn everything about the life of the Maroon. Arriving on Ston Island, a beautiful peninsula on the reservoir, you can catch fish and enjoy a delicious Surinamese meal. Take a refreshing dip, relax at the water's edge and be enchanted by the beauty of nature.

Program
Day 1
Depart from Paramaribo at 8 a.m. and enjoy a holiday breakfast along the way. Explore the transmigration villages on Brownsweg and continue the journey to the Dam and Ston Island. Take a motorized tour by canoe (with a minimum of 4 people) and catch beautiful fish such as Toekoenaris or Piranhas. Enjoy a Surinamese meal in the afternoon and relax with a swim. In the early evening we return to Paramaribo.
