Day 1
Day 1 - En route to the jungle and making a place to sleep Early in the morning you will leave for the jungle of Suriname with your guide Leon. This trip takes you back to the time and lifestyle of the enslaved; how did they survive in the pristine rainforest? Along the way we drive past the old Suralco (Bauxite) factory, an indigenous village and drive through savannah territory. After about 1.5 hours of driving, we park the car and continue on foot into the forest in search of a creek. This walk takes about half an hour. Once we have found a good spot by the creek, we have some time to rest and build up energy with a tasty meal. We will need this because after this, the adventure begins! Together, we build our own camp using a pickaxe and trees from the forest. We will collect some wood right away that we will cook on later. At the end of the afternoon we go out to find our ingredients for dinner. Finally, in the evening, we go into the forest to look for Wildlife.
Day 2
Day 2 - Animal spotting and transit to Seliba
Early morning is the time to spot beautiful birds and other animals and we take a morning walk through the forest. We have a chance to spot many beautiful birds like toucans, a parrot and Woodpecker. After about 1.5 hours of hiking, we will return to camp and a real jungle breakfast will be waiting for us. After breakfast, we have to gather our food for lunch where we get vegetables from the acai palm and will catch our own fish in the creek. After lunch, it's time to seek some more comfort and you'll leave for Seliba River Glamping
Day 3
Day 3 - Maximise your enjoyment of Seliba
On day 3, you head out again in the morning to spot wildlife at Seliba. Guide Leon often brings his telescope so that the smallest animals can be seen high up in the trees. You can enjoy the luxury of swimming pool at Seliba for a while or hop on a SUP board to explore the river. After lunch, you return to town.
