Day 1
After a brief discussion of the program and a cup of coffee or tea, it is time to leave. You get in the car towards the unspoiled jungle and, depending on the number of stops, it will take about 4 hours. You first arrive at the base camp, where you have time to swim and eat. Put on your jungle clothes, because it's time to conquer Fredberg. You walk for about 3 to 4 hours through the untouched jungle before you reach the top of the mountain. It is a tour that can be done by anyone with a normal fitness level. Once at the top of the mountain it is pure enjoyment. The view is beautiful and with a shower and kitchen, the necessary facilities for a good night are available. Enjoy the sunset and the starry sky in this special place before going to sleep.
Day 2
Jump out of your hammock early today for one of the most beautiful sunrises in Suriname. From above you can see the jungle awakening, as it were, with the sound of howler monkeys and beautiful birds such as macaws flying by. The cook provides a hearty breakfast, so that you can face the day with enough energy. Today you will explore the jungle even further and sleep completely back to basics in caves in the jungle behind the Fredberg. The guide will take you via the other side of the mountain towards the rare orange cock-of-the-rock and you may spot different monkey species along the way. You will receive an explanation about various plant species and learn how to survive in the jungle. You sleep in a self-made camp in your hammock in a cave.
Day 3
After an exciting night it is time to walk a bit through the jungle. After the jungle tour you return to the base camp, where it is time to relax. An extensive lunch is ready with ice-cold drinks. Tonight you will sleep in a comfortable bed and you will no longer need your hammock. You can fish, sail and at high tide you can even dive into the water with a real Tarzan swing. In the evening you will go out again with a guide to spot nocturnal animals. The evenings often end by the campfire.
Day 4
If you haven't had enough of the jungle yet, you can go out again with your guide to see more animals. If you just want to swim and sunbathe on the last day, there is certainly room for that. After lunch it is time to pack your things and drive back to Paramaribo.
