Overview
During the Brokopondo tour we take you on an adventurous journey of discovery to the Brokopondo district, including the Reservoir, an area that was flooded in the 1960s for energy supply. Admire the jagged tree trunks that rise above the water as you take a boat trip across the lake. Along the way you will discover the transmigration villages on Brownsweg and learn everything about the life of the Maroon. Arriving on Ston Island, a beautiful peninsula on the reservoir, you can catch fish and enjoy a delicious Surinamese meal. Take a refreshing dip, relax at the water's edge and be enchanted by the beauty of nature.

Program
Day 1
Depart Paramaribo at 08:00 and enjoy a holiday breakfast en route. Explore the transmigration villages on Brownsweg and continue the journey to the Stuwdam and Ston Island. Take a motorised cruise by korjaal (minimum 6 people) and catch beautiful fish such as Toekoenaris or Piranhas. Enjoy a Surinamese meal in the afternoon and relax with swimming. In the early evening, we return to Paramaribo.
