Day 1
The day has come for you to travel to our special spot on the Suriname River. In the morning hours, we expect you at our office in Paramaribo. Here you will get a brief introduction while enjoying a cup of coffee. Quickly get into the car and head south towards the interior. After a drive, passing the old Suralco (bauxite) factory and an indigenous village, you will arrive in the village of Powakka after about 1.5 hours. Here, we stop at the house of Mr 'Kleine' who enthusiastically tells you about the Indians (Amerindians) in Suriname. Back on his property, he brews Indigenous specialities. With some tips and tricks from 'Kleine', you get to work yourself with his local products, such as cassava. You will, of course, continue tasting an Indigenous beer and feasting on freshly baked cassava. After this, it's time to continue by bus to Seliba. Time for the luxury camping adventure. At Seliba, ‘nothing’ is required but everything is possible. Are you a real water lover? Then get on one of the sup boards that are waiting for you. Do you just want to relax and cool off? Then you can also hang out by the pool.
Day 2
Delightful waking up to the sound of howler monkeys. These monkeys live on the island opposite Seliba. Every morning is a veritable concert of monkey roars and chirping birds. Seliba is where you can see rare birds up close. The toucans and hummingbirds literally fly around your ears. After a cup of coffee (or tea, of course), it is nice to wander around with your camera or binoculars. Are you awake extra early? Then head out onto the water with your guide and paddle into the sunrise. Can't get enough of the jungle? Join your guide for another hike to spot more birds, monkeys and wildlife. After breakfast, you still have time for a dip in the pool or some activities on the river. After lunch, it's time to say goodbye to this magical place in Suriname. Time to trade in your glamping tipi again for the bus ride towards Paramaribo.
