Program

Day 1
The journey starts with a flight from the local Zorg en Hoop airport, an adventure that takes you to the airstrip near the Indian village of Palumeu. The welcome by our local staff feels like a warm embrace, just a stone's throw from the village where the Trio and Wajana Indians call home. After checking into your accommodation, nearby Palawa Island beckons with an inviting picnic lunch and a refreshing dip in the calm river.
Day 2
The bond between travelers blossoms as everyone works together to load the canoe for a journey where no detail should be overlooked. Adventure calls and you are taken on a journey across the Tapanahony and Palumeu rivers to the Kamakabari camp. Here you will find the simplicity of the jungle, away from luxuries, without telephones or radio contact, embraced by life as a true explorer.
Day 3
A new morning in the jungle begins, and together you break camp for the next leg to Kasikasima base camp. The canoe navigates through rapids, where low tide requires the involvement of everyone. A trek to the Kasikasimage Mountains beckons and at the foot of the mountain, surrounded by sounds and traces of the jungle, the legend of this mountain range begins to live.
Day 4
An intense jungle trek takes you to the foot of the Kasikasima Mountains. The guide will reveal its mythical meaning as you search for the rare cock-of-the-rock. The climb to the top offers panoramic views over the Amazon rainforest, a cross-border experience. The descent rewards you with a refreshing massage in the water of the rapids, followed by stories around the campfire.
Day 5
The morning sun leads you on a walk to the Kodebaku waterfalls, steeped in wisdom about the flora and fauna of the rainforest. Enjoy the spectacle of the waterfalls and a visit to a nearby Indian camp. Back at base camp, a free afternoon awaits for personal discovery, followed by a night boat ride to listen to the jungle symphony orchestra.
Day 6
In the morning, shrouded in twilight, the boat floats on the river for a silent awakening of the jungle. The day is free to spend, whether it be taking a walk, swimming, or simply enjoying the untouched beauty of the Amazon.
Day 7
The return journey to Palumeu offers new opportunities to experience the splendor of the jungle, perhaps discovering howler monkeys, caimans or even a giant otter. Back in Palumeu you enjoy a well-deserved drink, saying goodbye to the cook and the boatmen.
Day 8
A morning tour of the village offers the chance to purchase traditional souvenirs, before flying back to Paramaribo after a trip filled with unforgettable adventures and encounters.
