At 9 a.m. you will depart from Paramaribo by bus to Santigron. Along the way a short stop will be made at Lelydorp to do the final shopping for lunch. You will have the opportunity to visit the market here. When you arrive at Santigron you will be welcomed with a drink. Then the guide will tell you about the village, nature and other interesting sights. At Santigron you will get an impression of the history of the village and the culturally rich life of the maroons during the tour. You will meet many villagers with whom you can have a nice chat. After the tour you will be treated to a delicious Surinamese lunch. After dinner the children of the village will give a cultural dance performance. The residents will then have the opportunity to present their wood carvings and other products to you for sale. In the afternoon we sail with a canoe across the Saramacca River to the Maroon Village of Haarlem and a mysterious creek in the jungle. In the evening there is a BBQ.
We start with a delicious breakfast, after which we prepare for the next trip. A jungle trip to the Indian village of Pikin Poika, where we experience the Indian culture up close. We also meet the Village Captain. In the afternoon we leave for the city again. Arrival: around 4.30 pm.
