Itinerary
Departure at 08.00 from Paramaribo. After arriving on the mountain, walk to the northern viewpoint. We also make an intensive trip to the Leo and Irene traps. Overnight at Brownsberg.
In the early morning we take a walk and enjoy the sunrise. Then breakfast follows. After breakfast we depart for Ston Island. Arriving at Ston Island you have the opportunity to swim. You can kayak, swim, sunbathe and fish on your own.
After breakfast we take a short walk in the woods and prepare ourselves for departure to the boat harbor Atjoni. From Atjoni you will transfer to an outboard canoe for a pleasant cruise to the village of JawJaw. The boat trip takes about half an hour. After arrival you can spend the rest of the afternoon as you wish. You may choose to relax in the beautiful JawJaw rapids that flow near your accommodation. In the evening we go spotting caimans.
After breakfast you will take a forest walk through the rainforest followed by a village walk where you will become acquainted with the culture of the Saramaccan people who have kept the African traditions of fishing, hunting, building boats and natural healing methods alive in the Surinamese jungle. After lunch you will visit the further village of Gunsi, from where you will take a hike to the village of New Aurora/Laduani. From Laduani you sail to the Ferulasi rapids where you can enjoy. In the late afternoon you will sail back to JawJaw.
